Painted “Stained Glass”

Several years ago, when we lived in Bridge City, I discovered a large pile of old wooden windows at the curb. I called my wonderful husband and he went and picked them up. I had no idea what I would do with them, but I had to have them. There were 18 windows 24×24 and 8 at 24×12. They survived the hurricane Ike and were moved to Friendswood.  Most of the windows have the original glass, hardware and rope pull. My sister was the first to propose an idea for the windows. She commissioned a peacock painting for her large bathroom window. This custom “stained glass” window is painted on glass using Gallery Glass and Redi Lead strips by Plaid, Inc. Each design is custom and unique. Now I have added school logos. Any school or passion can be put on glass. Some designs are on reclaimed wooden windows or glass cabinet doors. The design can also be painted on the glass from a standard frame.     http://www.etsy.com/listing/47616805/aggie-stained-glass-window-by-melanie This Texas A&M “stained glass” window is painted on glass in an 11×14 black wood frame.
